Messed up ... monitor not working after driver update
Computer was working fine and then the sound quit working. If I plugged in the headset it worked. We hooked the speakers up to the laptop and they worked. Went to an online forum where they recommended installing a new driver. Needless to say this was a little over my head and so I tried to follow directions from realtec or something site and downloaded new driver. It asked me if I wanted to restart my computer so I clicked yes and now my monitor does not get a signal. I've tried restarting a few times but no luck. Have checked all the cables and they seem fine. Is there a way to do a system restore if you don't have a monitor?? Any suggestions would be helpful. I use Windows Vista..computer is about a year and a half old

Unfortunately you've told us nothing about your computer and you aren't really clear about what is going on or what you have done.
Your details are spastic and somewhat lacking. What happens when you turn on your computer? Do you get anything on the monitor at all? Is your computer beeping? Do you think that you could find the driver you installed and paste the link here for us? Please try to be more clear and explain everything.

My question was if there was a way to do a system restore without the monitor. My monitor simply said "no signal" and then it went to sleep. I have no idea what the issue was but the next morning everything was working fine, sound and monitor so I have no idea what was going on.

Well I'm glad it's working but to answer your question there isn't much you can do without a working monitor. Let us know if it gives you anymore problems. If you need help with your audio then we'll still need more info on your computer.
