Hi I would massively appreciate any help/advice that anyone can give me.

I recently downloaded some software (WinRAR 4.0) to open RAR files (I'm not sure if this is relevant or not). It worked fine and did the job. The next day when I turned my laptop on again, the laptop became very slow and unresponsive. I still managed to transfer some key files onto a memory stick so the laptop is not totally useless but it is becoming worse and I can hardly open any folders now.

I have started the laptop in safemode,which works fine, and I ran all the antivirus programmes I have on it to try and get rid of a possible virus. (Avast! antivirus, Malwarebytes' anti-malware, spybot search and destroy, AVG & SUPERAntispyware) a lot I know but all of these only returned with a few adware's I removed these but the problem persisted.

I have since removed a few unneccessary programs to free space and also tried a system restore. But my laptop is still not functioning correctly. Now it works fine on 'safemode' with networking. But when I try to load it p normally, I get no GUI, however I can login on my profile and also reach the task manager to see what processes are running. However I am reasonably inexperienced so this doesnt neccessarily help me.

Any thoughts/replies will be appreciated thanks!
