    P.S I like the "Junior Member" as I'm 76!!!!
Congratulations and I am happy to see you have embraced computers.

Next year, I will be a junior - sexagenarian!

The only thing I don't like so far is NO favorites in start menu!
Fortunately, that is easy to fix.
Right click on the Start orb and select Properties,
Click on the Start Menu tab, then the Customize button,
Scroll down until you see "Favorites menu" and click its checkbox to check it,
Then click OK twice and you should be good to go.

Thanks for all help with Toshiba laptop. Am enjoying discovering Sony Vaio and
Windows 7 and Google Chrome also Firefox. Just one question please:
I've decided to store my Toshiba laptop - what is the best way to do this? I have all the information from it etc. Is it better to take the battery out? Haven't deleted any files.
    Regards to all

It is always best to remove batteries from electronic devices when stored. Also, if you don't plan on using that old computer again, and you will not be needing those files it might be best to delete them now while you still know where they are. If you might be needing those files, copy then delete them now, again while still fresh. Then you might run CCleaner on it and check the option to "Wipe Free Space". If you decide to get rid of that old machine in a couple years, you won't have to worry about security of any personal data.

Thanks for the advice. Just a question please: I want to keep files, data etc., but if I remove the battery and the laptop is
not connected via adapter - will I lose everything?

No. Hard drives do not need power to retain the data stored on them. In fact, you can pull the hard drive an attach to your other computer when you want something from it - with the appropriate adapter.
