Hello
I have Windows Visa 32-bit OS. I have been getting the following error:
"C:\\Windows\system32\dssenh.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or
it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support."
As a result I can't hear any audio on my laptop. All the relevant drivers are woring fine. The registry has no errors. I have tried system restore and re-installing drivers but it has not helped. Not quite sure what else to do. This problem started randomly after watching some vidoes on youtube. Is my computer infected? Please could you suggest a solution.
Many thanks
dssenh.dll is a legit Windows file.
See here: You cannot install some updates or programs
I'm moving this topic to Vista forum.
Thanks.
But how do I fix this error? Can someone explain to me exactly what I need to do. The link in your post above does not really do much for a regular user.
Any help will be much appreciated.
What do you mean? The link in your post above does not really do much for a regular user.
It talks about cryptographic services and I am not very tech savvy. Do you just want me to follow the steps prescribed in that article? Is that the solution? It provides an automatic "fix it" solution (apparently from Microsoft). I tried that but nothing has changed since. I would be lovely if you could tell me something on the lines you "you need to do 3 things, first x, second x, third x" - problem solved!
Please download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.

File itself looks fine.
You need to go back to my link and try each of 10 manual methods listed there.
