Hi

I am getting the above message on my screen whe loading my HP 530. It tells me to press F1, and when i do the screen shows up with Non-System disk or disk error replace and strike any key when ready.

Please can anyone help?

It does indeed sound like the hard drive has failed and there may be nothing you can do about it but buy a new drive and reinstall Windows from scratch. If the HP is still under warranty, contact HP. If you can determine the drive's maker by looking at the label, you can visit the drive maker's website and download and run their diagnostic program.

If you have critical data you don't want to lose on that drive, I would remove the drive and install it in an enclosure or into a spare PC as a secondary drive and try to copy off your data.
