i had the same problem , i knew the hardware was right , but this message appeared . you should get the latest driver version . to download that you can goto ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- which they have SoundMAX ADI1986A sound card on their mother boards . so after clicking the link , goto motherboards , then choose socket775 and then choose P5PL2-E , the audio driver for this motherboard is ADI1986a version 6.1 .... download it .
then uninstall previous drivers and restart your computer and now install the new driver.
