Bad ram is one possibility. Another is that windows is corrupt which could have been caused by your previous infection. I see that broni already told you to run memtest--that is a good idea. But the first thing I recommend that you do is to try a system file checker scan. If that passes & it tells you that it didn't find any problems then try a memory test. If SFC tells you that it found & fixed errors give it a while to see if that fixed the problem and if not proceed with the memory scan. Also use windows check disk to scan your hard drive. You should also try to run one stick at a time like broni suggested provided SFC doesn't help. You could also take windows out of the equation by running a bootable version of linux such as knoppix or ubuntu and see if it still crashes (note that you do not need to install ubuntu).

try ccleaner to clean your system and see what happens.

One, although infection might be a cause of those particular errors the more likely cause is either bad memory or trouble with windows. Two broni has cleared the user of any infection so provided that it is related to the infection you'd be looking at damage from the infection which wouldn't be helped by running ccleaner. All that does is clear out junk which it looked broni had the user do with OTL.

It's running ok. I think I did run SFC and it didn't find anything. Never did do a memory test. But I haven't gotten the blue screen again.

Hal.dll is a bad file to have a problem with.

Yes my computer/windows is running fine. The system file checker scan didn't find anything. Should I do a memory test now? Could you maybe post the instructions for that?

So yeah it was a few months ago the last time that I posted in this thread. I never really did do the memory test or anything to fix that hal.dll file or whatever. My computer had been working ok until a few weeks ago. Windows crashed and wouldn't start on it. I had to reinstall Vista and everything again like a week ago. Since then I have still gotten a blue error screen a few times. The logs say that they are caused by a driver. But when I look at the newest one in BlueScreenView, hal.dll is one of the files listed and highlighted in red. I have done the memory test now and it said it didn't find any errors. Is there really a problem with the memory or is it something else? What else can I do? Will upgrading to Windows 7 help? Here are the blue screen logs:
