How does one disinstall aprogramme that wont disinstall? When I click on a programme
(AVG) in progammes and features to disinstall it instead of disinstalling I get a message saying "Installation Failed"

Do you mean uninstall? When a program won't uninstall via the programs and features then you have to use special software to force a removal or do a manual removal (which shouldn't be done by a novice) but in your case I recommend that you use the AVG Removal Tool. Is that the only one that can't be removed? If not then you might have a more serious problem.

Thank you for trying to help me townsbq, but my real problem is I can not download anything though it appears to go through the process and I thought thisprogramme that will not unistall might be the cause of the problem. I tried to download the AVG Removal tool as you suggested but like all others Icould not. Thanks again for your help

To be sure I suggest that you read this & post another thread here.

When I clicked on download on AVG Removal tool I clicked on "run" then anotice saying verifying which went off after a few second and that was it without explanation. I first realised I had a problem when I tried to download a driver for my printer. I went through the process which culminated on my being told "download successful ", but it was not. It was not on the list of programmes there was nothing on the desktop and any attempt to print anything just got an error message. I am only a pensioner and am completely baffledand dont know what to do.
