    network discovery not found

I have an Acer 5630 running Vista which, using internal wireless adapter will not recognise any networks. Wireless adapter is switched on and enabled. None of the diagnose tols show what the ptroblem might be.
I tried another wireless adapter same problem.
If I try a wired connection it works OK.
I am running Norton 360 and I suspect there is something in that causing the problem.

Update: the wireless usb adapter that I tried now works. Now only the internal wireless adapter can't see the network. So it's not network discovery.

    Any thoughts

I had the usb adapter working, but now it's not seeing the network. The problem is that it sees others around the area.

I clicked on "Connect To", and it showed me a list of networks, and I connected to mine, and then entered password, but I typed in the wrong password three times.
I used another laptop to get to the router to see the correct password.
But then couldn't see the network on the problem laptop.

I re-booted, clicked "Connect To" it showed me other networks in the area, but not mine.
Tried "Connect To" again no networks found, clicked refresh, and saw others but not mine.

    Any ideas.

I'm confused. You said in your opening post,
using internal wireless adapter will not recognise any networks.
Perhaps your router has blocked access to that IP. You might open a command prompt and release your IP assignment with ipconfig /release then start the process to connect again.

The internal wireless card does not see any networks.

The external USB adapter did, but now, although I can see other networks in the area, I can't see my network.

At the same time I tried another laptop, and it did see my network.

    I'll try your suggestion.

    Thanks
