Ok hope this makes sense here goes.

Using vista HP 32 bit and Compaq Presario SR5710 and can you think of the vista log on screen you get to slowly after you turn the pc on.

So i turn my pc on and get the silly compaq splash screen the jumping guy and the Q, then like 30 seconds of blank screen but then and this just popped up out of the blue 2/3 weeks ago i get a minute or two or three depending on the pc s mood of my pc the window from vista log on, are you with me so far then that pass's onto the black screen which then pass's on the login on screen whew and then everything looks normal sceech.

Tryed another Monitor and cable got the same thing so not the monitor as far as i can tell, then tryed three different restore dates and that did nothing.

Ran malwarebytes found 5 things infected deleted those and that fixed nothing guess i ll try r - Kill next see what happens .

Talked with HP techs over the phone and their best guess was the video card which is built into the main board, so got a main board install today ( Monday ) by an HP tech on site in just over an hour (From ATT i found out he was from) and that didn t fix , he was clueless then left sceech . .

This this error ring anybells out their; any ideas and suggestions for getting all black screen startup ! ? - thanks a bunch . . .
