I just started my computer and the usual desktop does not appear. Just a black screen with a dialog box showing all my files. So I was able to open my browser and other files. Previously I was having trouble getting my Outlook 2007 to open my email accounts. I was getting a dialog box that said:

MS Office Outlook; A dialog box ix open. Close it and try again.

I wasn't having any luck clearing that error message. I have no dialog box open. So I don't know the problem.

I then ran CCleaner to see if I had any obvious problems. After that I started getting this black screen. Now I really don't know what to do. Ideas for troubleshooting will be greatly appreciated.

I fixed this issue by restoring the computer to an earlier point. Now all is fine again.
