How to reduce processes running on PC
I'm having trouble running a program called Pro Show Producer. The tech from Photodex suggested that I reduce the number of programs that run in the background so there is more processing power to run this program properly.
I checked Task Manager and with right now (running Firefox and MS Outlook Mail) I'm using Processes: 93; CPU Usage: 5%; Memory: 60%.
I did turn off as much of these background programs as I could and got the Processes down to 48, although I could still not complete the task on Pro Show Producer.
I now realize that I should have more Processes power available to run my PC. What is the best way to bring this number down???
Thanks.
I use a Dell DXP061 with Vista Ultimate, Intel Core 2 Cpu 6400 @2.13 Ghz and 2.0 GB Memory.
