    appropriate permission

Am currently logged into my pc as administrator am am getting the following message while trying to install a plugin into photoshop CS4.

"you do not have the appropriate permissions required to perform this operation. Contact your system administrator to obtain permission."

Is there a way to verify that I am logged in as administrator as I only have the one account on my pc. Thank you

Try right clicking on the Photoshop shortcut and selecting Run as administrator.

With Vista/7 sometimes you have to run certain things with elevated privileges (which is what you are doing) even if you are an administrator. I suppose that's just Vista being paranoid.

Generally if you are running updates or installing something you need to do so. Another time would be if you are scanning your system files with sfc.
