    Please, post some computer info:
    - processor type, amount of RAM (hold Windows logo key, hit Pause/Break key)
    - hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", right click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")
    - security programs in use (antivirus, firewall)

Not only can you not legally use dell disks in any other computer but quite frequently a manufacturer's disk(s) will only work in the computer model that it came with because it is locked out from being used on other computers. In addition if there aren't xp drivers for your computer you won't be able to do squat with it anyway. I don't think that Vista is as bad as many people complain about so you should be getting good performance. Therefore working with Broni on testing for malware is a good idea.

Well observed, thanks, I think your correct, as I found this printed on the disc "only use this DVD to reinstall the operating system on a Dell PC" .

    Hi Broni,
Tryed & tryed but every time I click on my Desk Top Icon `Hijack` it will not scan - instead the following message comes up - "Exit Hijack/Right click icon/Run admiistrator" if your O/S is VISTA.

That's what you do. Right click on HJT and click "Run as Administrator".
Don't post any logs in this thread.
