    replacing Vista with Windows 7

I am told that my problems with my small laptop is due to Vista taking up so much space.
Can I change to Windows 7?
Would this help and if so how to do this?

Can you change? Yes. You would need to buy a copy of Windows 7.

Would this help? No. Not likely.
Windows Vista System Requirements - 20Gb
    Windows 7 System Requirements - 16Gb

While it is true Win7 requires less disk space than Vista, it is not likely 4Gb is going to make a lasting difference. If you are running out of space, it is because you have installed too much stuff on your drive. It does not matter how much space is used up, it matters how much free space you have left. Perhaps if you tell us that, and the nature of your problems, we can provide some better help.

I will start with this. Review the programs you have installed and uninstall those you don't use. If you are unsure what a program is, leave it for now. Clean the clutter from your system. , I recommend purging the hard drives of clutter with Disk Cleanup, ATF Cleaner or CCleaner. If using CCleaner, uncheck the option to install the Yahoo toolbar during installation. Before first use, go to Options > Settings > Advanced and ensure Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 24 hours is unchecked. Know your site credentials (user names and passwords) for sites you frequent before cleaning; you may have to login again at next visit.

It took months to get all my programs working with VISTA .. I'm holding off W7 for as long as I can.

That's the good thing about Win7 - if something works with Vista, it should work with Win7, including hardware drivers which was a big problem moving from XP to Vista.
