    Unhappy Vista Boot Up

Acer computer running Vista Home edition. Computer crashed, tried to just do a fresh install of the OS. Won't allow me to, when installing Vista OS disk it goes to the startup repair program and constant runs saying "checking system for errors" (never finds any errors, just continually runs.) I even went to a DOS prompt and ran the C: Format C: command, it reformatted the drive but when I run the Vista disk again it does the same thing all over. My question is how do I do a fresh instatll and fix the boot sector. I don't have any system restore disk...............PLEASE HELP

    Sorry for the delay.

If the issue is still an issue there should be a Recovery Partition on the hard drive.

What is the exact Acer model?
