Have some videos stored in pictures. Tried to burn a copy of one of them today and could not import it to Windows Movie Maker. Got this message.

"The file cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your compter. If you have already tried to down load and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker and then try to import the file again."

I have no idea what codec is.

I probably did not make myself clear. What I do not understand is this. I created some home videos and stored them in pictures. Video A I can burn a copy whenever I wish. Video B will not let me burn a copy and tells me I need to download codec. Why?

Hmmm, and Video A and Video B were created using the same camera and saved in the same format? Did you check the camera maker's website?

The videos were assembled from a collection of photos. Video A is photos taken this year with a digital camera and downloaded directly to the computer. Then I imported the photos one at a time into Windows Movie Maker and created caption cells between the photos to describe each photo subject. They are antique automobiles. I have burnt several copies of this video to share with friends.

Video B was assembled from a collection of slides and photos taken in previous years and scanned into the computer this summer. Then the video was created the same way. Created a caption cell and then import the photo that went with it into Movie Maker. I made a few copies of it and suddenly the computer will not let me burn copies of the DVD because it says I don't have codec installed and I don't even know what codec is supposed to do but I know I have created videos like this before and made copies. So what do I do.
