Using the link Windows Vista How-To Articles, Tips, and Guides :: How-To Geek i followed instructions on how to see how much space system restore is taking up on my drive. Actual usage is 20.187GB, allocated is 20.834GB and maximum is 21.645GB. I've mentioned in previous posts the size of my drive, so is this amount excessive and should I lower it?

How much hard disk space does System Restore require?

To store restore points, you need at least 300 megabytes (MB) of free space on each hard disk that has System Protection turned on. System Restore might use up to 15 percent of the space on each disk. As the amount of space fills up with restore points, System Restore will delete older restore points to make room for new ones.

System Restore will not run on hard disks smaller than 1 gigabyte (GB).

Information in quote above taken from here Scroll down to "How much Hard disk space does system restore require"? My advice would be to lower the space taken on the formation given in your last post.

As mentioned in my last post I have 3% equalling 1095MB of system restore enabled on my Windows OS (Windows XP/SP3 Home) which I have learned over time is adequate for whenever is needed to restore your system to an earlier date.
