Hi,

I have Vista home basic on a laptop that resets every time it has loaded as far as the mouse pointer. Same result in safe mode.

Tried using the repair CD (I don't have a copy of windows to try a reinstall). But it says it can't automatically repair it. The log shows "Boot manager generic failure 0xc000000f".

Any suggestions?

Ok, The only solution I found was to get hold of a copy of windows, and do a full reinstall. Vista just puts all the old files in a folder called "windows.old" which allowed me to keep documents etc.
