    password

I have a Toshiba laptop running Vista Home Premium.
I inadvertantly locked the computer using the F2 key.
When I tried to unlock, it asked me for my password which I had forgotten.
I reset my (administrator) password using the reset disc.
Now each time on every start-up, I get a message saying "incorrect user-name or password".
When I click OK and enter my new password, it is accepted and the computer starts up ok.

    Any remedies???

The only thing that comes to mind is to totally remove the password through User Accounts in the Control Panel & then reinstating it.

Removed the password and reinstated it.
    Problem still exists unfortunately.
On start-up, the password asked for (automatically) is obviously the original one (which I forgot). I get the message "incorrect user-name or password". Once I click OK, I type in my new password, which is accepted.
Would doing a system restore fix the problem?

I don't really need password protection, If I just simply remove the password will this cure the problem?
