I am using a Insperion 15 laptop, Yesterday I uninstalled the virus software that came with my laptop as the free trail had run out, I installed AGV anti virus, all is fine except I no longer have my battery icon showing on tool bar, any ideas as to how I get it back? would it of uninstalled when I got rid of the Mcfee anti virus??

Also should I be installing any other spyware of virus detectors?

Have you tried going to the Dell website finding your laptop and seeing if there is a download for the power management software? Some Dell laptops use their own software for this. If there is not an option for this, then it use the Windows Power Management. If you right click on the Windows bar and goto and go to Properties, click the tab that says Notifications and tick the power one.

choose-- properties
notification area tab. make sure "power" has a check in the box.
