I have a couple of windows update install errors:

1) My Windows can not update itself for new updates. THe last check that it made was in May, 2009, and I'm sure there had to be some updates since then. Or at least, it would not end up with this error message:

"Windows could not search for new updates"
Code 80072EFD - "Windows Update encountered an unknown error"

I have tried troubleshooting this with Windows Help, but did not work...

2) There are two updates that I keep getting an error with. Windows is trying to install the following two:
- Security Update for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 (KB960089)
- Security Update for Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 (KB957789)

The Errors found are:

Code 7358 - "Windows Update encountered an unknown error."
Code 8007006E - "Windows Update encountered an unknown error."

Please advise....

Yes, there are Windows Updates on the second Tuesday of each month. This last month for instance there were 14 in my case, but it depends on what is installed on your computer as to how many are offered.
