Recovery Disc for HP dv6770se Laptop

Hi guys... This is kinda a tricky situation. I have a HP dv6770se laptop, which I bought from America (I live in Ireland). The thing is when I first got the laptop I tried changing it to XP (from Vista) so I did that recovery disc burning thing that you have to do now, but what ever way it burned only one disc instead of 3 (and as you know, you can only burn the recovery cd's once). So I contacted HP and they said that because I bought it in America and I took it abroad I lost the warranty (not really sure why the warranty would be an issue for supplying a recovery cd) so they wouldn't supply me with the recovery cd!

So now, I would like to change my OS to Ubuntu but I want to make sure that I have a back up in case things go wrong!

So my question: is there any other way to get the recovery cd for my laptop?

    Your model:

HP Pavilion dv6770se Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

    Recovery disks can be purchased:

Order Recovery Discs for Windows Vista or XP HP Pavilion dv6770se Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

Usually for shipping and handling but otherwise Ubuntu should not cause an issue as it will require its own partition to install.

You might also consider whatever HP options there are for upgrading to Windows 7.
