So the other day I was infected with a trojan and didn't know about it. Cleaned out the computer using Ad-Aware and avast! today and all but one issue remains...userinit.exe. If I use Trojan Remover it does nothing. If I use Ad-Aware it removes the reference to userinit.exe in the Registry but then I get the black screen of death after logon. I've replaced the userinit with the one from my recovery disk and replaced the value in the registry...then it gets picked up by Ad-Aware and Trojan Remover again.

So far the only issues I've been having, I cannot navigate to any Microsoft or anti-virus websites at all. I've tried Ad-Aware, avast! MalwareBytes, Trojan Remover, and SUPER AntiSpyware and nothing has come through yet with an answer.

Help or suggestions would be great, thanks!

Well, I guess we can close this thread before we even get started. Read on some forum about using Kaspersky's Virus Removal Tool, so I did and it found a ton of Win32.Virut.ce. Funny how nothing else even picked up on this. Time to reformat and hope this baby is gone. Thanks anyways!
