Hi

Initially I had Symantec Corporate edition 10.2 after certain update it become incompatible with Vista. Then I removed it and tried using Windows defender but it can not update itself and it is out of date. Then I tried AVG 8 and it was also not able to download updates. Currenlty I have trial version of Kaspersky and it is also not able to update. Even windows updates is not working.

You may have quiet a mess there after using so many different programs, and, possibly some infection.

hello i have vista and my pc just goes to a blue screen at the bottom it says 0% ------> 100% crashing and then my pc will restart on its own. and it also has this antivirus screen that will pop up and i cant do anything but restart it manually on my own then it will work for a little while and then do it all over again. i tried to find and download the free AVG and i cant seem to find it.....any suggestions

I could resolve my problem... Here's what I did

I went to Safe Mode with networking and then I installed Spybot then I updated its definition manually (Spybot has this option)... since my automatic update of any antivirus/antispyware failed... then I ran spybot I could find numerous spywares which I removed then restarted normally... after restart I could get a good antivirus and update it without error and everything worked from then onwards..

If Spybot found something, I'd still suggest, you listen to my previous advice.

Perhaps you should also follow his advice. Have you tried to boot up your computer in safe mode?
