Re: audio not workin for vista .. ?!?!
My system is complicated but yes I have 7 RC and I have pre-ordered 7 pro. I also have Vista Ultimate. That is my primary OS. I really have no idea why so many people hate it; I haven't had too many problems with it on my computer. I hope overall that 7 will be better. People should really start moving away from XP and eventually it will be unsupported.
I would not put 7 on anything else than a computer that has a at least 1 gb of ram (preferably 2), a decent CPU, & a decent GPU. Everyone I've ever known that doesn't have enough ram in their computer complains that their computer is slow. Such computers are built to meet Microsoft's recommended specs for the OS and nothing more; its like they (the manufacturer) forgot to factor in what people would need to run 3rd party software but they are doing better now. I was in the local best buy yesterday and all but 2 models of their desktops had at least 4 gb of ram and even as high as 8. Now I think that they are going in the opposite direction because I don't see why anyone would need that much. One of the employees was telling someone that he probably would never need to upgrade it which is probably true. I was stunned.
Really when it comes to drivers my Vista drivers worked for everything but my sound card. Fortunately the manufacturer had beta drivers available.
