I didn't get any notifications through windows update but I have automatic installs turned off. Who knows but I downloaded it and installed it.

Yep. BTW from what I read you can't yet use vLite to slipstream it.

Apparently vLite has a nasty habit of accidentally deleting files needed for SP2 installation.
