Problem with a particular web site using IE

I have a mystery. I have been using a printing template for Strathmore paper (Strathmore Artist Papers - FREE! Digital Print Center) for about 3 years. I have been unable to get the template to work for the last few months. Today I decided to see if it would work on my laptop, which is configured the same as my desktop, and it worked. I've also talked to the Strathmore tech people and they can't figure out my problem.

In order to use the template you must access it using IE. Then you add a photo and some text and you can print out a nice greeting card using their Strathmore paper. It is very handy.

So I guess something on my desktop is preventing the template for working. Do any of you have any idea how I could trouble shoot this. I know I can use my laptop, but it is more convenient to use the desktop . . . and it used to work from my desktop.

Any ideas how to troubleshoot this type of issue will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

You might want to check firewall settings. Do you use a custom hosts file? What version of IE? Is this the only site you have problems with?

Bill, I use IE7 just for this task. Because the site doesn't work with Firefox. It is the only site I have problems with. Although, I don't use IE for much else. I don't know what a "custom hosts file" is?

Then you most likely are not using one. The fact it works with other computers on your network, and not your computer, then it would seem your computer is blocking it - I recommend purging the hard drives of clutter with Windows (XP or Vista) Disk Cleanup, ATF Cleaner or CCleaner. If using CCleaner, uncheck option to install Yahoo toolbar during installation. Before first use, go to Options > Settings > Advanced and ensure Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours is unchecked.

Note: Know your site credentials (user name and password) for sites you frequent before cleaning; you may have to login again at next visit.

Download and install Malwarebytes's Anti-Malware (MBAM) then scan as follows:
    Check for updates before scanning,
Select Perform quick scan > Scan,
When complete, click OK, then Show Results,
Ensure all is selected, and click Remove Selected,
When complete, save the log in Notepad to a convenient place for future reference.
Do the same for all computers in your "Trusted Zone" on your network (everything on your side of the Internet "gateway" device - typically a Cable or DSL modem).
