Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 530 that has been given to me sans hard drive, and i installed a new one (same specs) and loaded a fresh copy of Vista Home Premium. My cable broadband connection is flawless on my xbox 360 and xp desktop, but on my vista machine i get a "local only" connection. I ran the diagnose and repair wizard and it says that my primary DNS is not responding. I copied the ip address, dns settings, gateway settings, etc. from the xp to the vista, and it still doesn't work. Does anyone know how i can fix this? (I am using the onboard network slot)

Did you reload all the drivers?
