Taskbar keeps popping up and down every 5-10 seconds.

I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 and have my taskbar set to auto-hide. It keeps popping up and down every 5-10 seconds. It's not causing any apparent harm but is extremely annoying. Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

I saw the same recommendation for a different taskbar issue. I tried it and it didn't work.

Have you tried right click, and select lock the tasbar?

My taskbar is always locked. It's set to auto-hide because I have a lot of windows opened all the time and they don't fit well on one row. I like to see as much of the name of each window as possible because some of them are multiple instances of the same app and it makes it easier when I'm switching between them.

Are you doing anything when it pops up or will it pop up when you are doing absolutely nothing?

One 'experiment': unlock it and drag it to the side of the screen. See if that changes anything.

Of course you can always drag it back down and lock it again.

I tried it. No change. I switched back.

Mines is doing the same thing. I think it has to do with one of the windows updates as it happaned on a clean install during updates.
