    Me to Xp...

    I have an oem vista disk. I am presently running WinMe. I have 384mb RAM. Can I install the Vista?(suggestions) If so....how. Thank you. Stevo

    If your computer was built years ago to support WinMe, then it is not likely it will provide satisfactory performance with Vista, assuming you could find all the necessary drivers to get it running - not a sure thing with legacy hardware. Certainly, 384Mb of RAM is a small amount, even for XP. Vista likes mores - which makes sense since it is designed to take advantage of current technology. XP was designed for hardware 10 year ago and before.

    Also, note that OEM disks are licensed to the computer hardware they are purchased with. In other words, you cannot legally install OEM software on a computer it was not purchased for.

    Your title says XP but you ask about Vista. Vista: no way. XP: maybe.

    But with all due respect as I have mentioned in your other thread you should be looking for a new computer.
