My HP Notebook wont recognize JVC DVD-R blank disks. So far Ive had no problem with JVC DVD+R and Mega Bit DVD-R. Even My HP external DVD writer wont recognize them. My wife's Acer Notebook had no problem though. What can I do to fix this?

Try flash the latest manufacturer hardware code for the DVDR drive.
