    Windows firewall

    I want to know how i can use windows firewall in windows vista.

    Thanks for the useful link which you provided , as windows vista firewall is by default turned on without changing the default settings, is it secure to do online shopping.

    And it is a two-way firewall, unlike XP's.

    Well, no firewall can ensure that. You still have to make sure it is a reputable site and that any exchange of sensitive personal information is done through a secure connection in your browser. But yes, the Vista FW fine. Note too that XP firewall is fine for most people too. But, like a router, the XP firewall assumes data coming from within the "trusted zone" is safe - considering it made it through the FW once, as well as any real-time anti-malware scanning. With a properly maintained and operated computer, that is all that is needed.

    A two-way firewall controls both incoming and outgoing.
