I have a message with an attachment for a word document In Windows Mail. When I try to open I get an error message that says "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations Control Panel" How do I fix this?

Do you have Word (Office) installed on your computer?

If not you need a viewer such as:

Yes I have Word 2002 installed and working fine. In fact I just tested it by clicking on the Word icon in quicklaunch.

Save the email attachment, then try to open the saved document outside
of Windows Mail. Let us know if it opens that way. Also, let us know
what type of document it is, JPG, DOC, XLS, PPS?

Problem solved. I ended up using a program called "Docfix" and worked perfectly.
