Cant logon, keyboard mouse dead, drivers??

I've just gone out and bought a Kensington PilotBoard Wireless keyboard and mouse set.. I installed the software, and it searched for a new version, and installed it - KeyboardWorks and MouseWorks. It restarted, and then everything went pear shaped.
It comes to the logon screen, but I cant logon because the keyboard and mice dont work. So i tried a USB corded keyboard and mouse, no luck. Ive tried PS/2 keyboard and mouse, no luck. I've tried them all in safe mode as well, no luck
If the software (which I guess is for XP) has corrupted mouse drivers or sommin, how do I fix it if I can't log on??? Im running Vista Home Premium..
Any help is very very very greatly appreciated; I'm getting worried I might have to reinstall Windows, and nothing is backed up...

    Thanks, Paul

oh, and if you're thinking of getting the kensington pilotboard - dont
very very good keyboard, but the mouse leaves a lot to be desired. mouse is pants, very twitchy, the wireless is appauling, laggy, doesnt always pick up very well, even tho its about 1ft from the usb dongle which is in a front usb port. i might get used to it, but at the moment i wouldnt reccomend it to anyone..
