    BSOD! Dun dun dunnnnnn!

I am back! With more questions about what could be causing my blue screens.

I suppose i will post my specs..
E4500@2.66ghz (just put it back to stock for now, just to see if it's causing it)
4GB DDR2 1066 (Crucial Ballistix, will explain in a minute)
    Gigabyte P35-DS3R Rev 2.0 (w/ latest BIOS)
    8800gt 512 (stock)
250GB Western Digital HDD (Here is my drive fitness)
80GB Seagate HDD as storing back-up (Here is my drive fitness)
Vista 64 bit with SP1 and all other important updates

Now on the NCIX.com page where i bought my Crucial RAM it says it may have computability issues with P35 chipsets...well...guess what chipset i have? Do you think this could be causing it? Give me the word, and i will get rid of this 4x1GB crap and jump on over to 2x2GB mushkin!

Also, judging from the hard drive stuff i posted above, could they be the cause? I have run a chkdsk on them and im pretty sure they turned up fine. Ill try and run one on the 80GB one now.

They are completely random too. I could be playing a game or just surfing the net like i was about a half hour ago.

All the info i can think of ATM, ask if you need anything else.

    Minidump below!

Well Jesse, unless Dan shows up with his extensive knowledge of Windows, and all I know is Linux. How about you checking into this

    FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: X64_0xF4_6FFD060_IMAGE_csrss.exe

    BUCKET_ID: X64_0xF4_6FFD060_IMAGE_csrss.exe
From what I gathered googling crss.exe, it is either malware or part of windows which is kinda confusing. Maybe run a Malware scan to be sure. From the look of your dump file though, my quote there seems to be the cause. Sorry, that is all I know.

    PROCESS_OBJECT: fffffa8006a43c10
    DEFAULT_BUCKET_ID: VISTA_DRIVER_FAULT
These might have something to do with it also, I would try googling process object also.

2nd post in here says that csrss.exe is a part of windows while crss.exe might be a trojan...
    Conflicting information (crss.exe) - GameDev.Net Discussion Forums

I will google the other thing you mentioned.

    Thanks.

You may want to access your bios and manually set the Ram timings. The auto-detect function sometimes under clocks your Ram.
Another problem could be the power to your house.

I've seen problems like this before.
Random crashes, hard drive problems, corrupt data, etc.
None of it was the problem of the computer.
It was the house power. We all assume that the electric coming into our homes is an exact 120VAC if we are living in the U.S.
But brown outs and spikes are more the norm then a steady 120VAC.
Computer power supplies do what they can to correct fluctuations but sometimes the voltage strays too much and causes the computer to be under-powered.

I know this first hand because it happened to me years ago.
I fixed my problems with an Uninterruptible Power Supply or UPS for short.
You can verify your voltages with an inexpensive volt meter or if you know an electrician or electronics repairman, they can test your voltages for you.
I had voltages as low as 108 VAC yet never realized it.

Several months ago I had a customer who purchased one of my custom computers complain of random crashes and BSOD's. I had him get his house voltages tested and he also had voltage problems. He bought a UPS and his problems were solved.
Since then, all my systems now come with a UPS and are required to be used or the warranty is voided.

Info on csrss.exe from neuber, & number of instances of csrss from microsoft.

TaZMAn mentioned bad power to the psu could cause problems however I felt that I should note that a bad PSU could be causing problems. At one point in time I kept having my seagate secondary drive fail & this happened repeatably until I figured out that my PSU was frying them by overpowering them. I would rma it, the replacement was fried, rma, fry, etc. I haven't had a problem since I replaced my PSU & I have never had a UPS.

    I have a Corsair 550VW, so i dont think it's that

I have already set my ram timings in the BIOS.

I think it was just my overclock i had with my processor. Damn i want an E8400 now that i cant keep this one at 3ghz...

If you overclocked so you might have done it wrong. To eliminate it as a possiblity I recommend that you revert to the defaults in the BIOS.
