    ChkDisk

    Hi guys,
I recently bought a new computer. Its like 3 weeks old now but it started to not work.
Mind you, it worked flawlessly the first 2 weeks but on the third week it started to do this ChkDisk thing when I try to open the comp. It always stops at 65% and won't carry on so I can't go on the PC, forcing me to "Game" on my laptop
Does anyone know how i can solve this problem?
And if it matters, I assembled all the parts myself and built the PC myself.
    Ta, Steven

If only 3 weeks old, it's under warranty, call the PC maker's tech support before you void any warranty.

    Oh.

How long did you wait? On a big drive, overnight is not unreasonable.

Chkdsk errors would indicate a hard disk problem, so the above still applies. But first, go out to the drive maker's web site and download and run their diagnostics program on the drive(s). If it fails, call the maker's tech support.

Is the system free of malware?

    It should be MALware free.
The longest I've waited for is half an hour. And i dont know the tech supports website since i forgot which compony i bought it from -.-

If you don't remember the brand of the hard disk you bought, then look on the disk. Then look in that link above for the maker's site.

Right, I found the link. It's Maxtor, I've been on the website but I don't know what to do next. Any idea, guys?

Since Maxtor is not part of Seagate, you will need to use Seatools for DOS to diagnose your drive. You will need to create a bootable floppy or CD. See here.

I'm not sure wheter to post this in here but to avoid confusion, I did it.
Everytime I start up, it says BOOTMGR is missing.
    Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart.
Every time I do it, it doesnt work... Any ideas?
