Question Video Clip not being recognised

    Hi everyone,

Ive got some video clips on my laptop which i got from a friend and one file wont play in WMP, it just opens then trys to play and then goes back to being "stopped" - no audio no video nothing....

So i checked out the file properties and the video and audio sections were blank. I checked another file and the info is there. Is this my computer being wierd yet again or is there something wrong with the file itself?

PS. It works fine with VLC though. I also asked him for another version of it and the same problem exists

You need codecs to play on WMP. I suggest you downloading CCCP or K-Lite

Im not sure its codecs because ive got loads of other avi files and they all run fine, sound, audio everything. I've downloaded the Vista Codec Pack too, and everything works fine. Its just this one file (2x15) all the others are fine. As you can see below its missing all the video and audio data in the "details" tab of file properties, whereas the files immediatly before and after it are fine......

    Any ideas?

Perhaps the video file is corrupt?

VLC player doesn't need codecs seeing it can play most videos already.

Try one of the above codec packs that I provided and try to play it if it doesn't work then you know the video is corrupt.
