Vista Indexing Problem / Deleting , Renaming , Moving Etc.
I have Vista Home premium and recently i have been getting errors sayin the search indexer has stopped working so i looked up a solution and one site said that if i delete all the indexing files and restart my computer the computer will re-generate the indexing files and i wont get that error. I did that and of course it dident work and i dident have computer restore to to date setup so i coudlent restore it to the day before.
so i just left it alone and ever since it takes about 3-5 min to delete, rename, move files or do anything like that. the delete thing sais 0 seconds remaining but takes up to 5 min to even rename a folder or create a new folder..
same with files and everything Etc..
Can anyone help!

Meaning it ran successfully but with no change in behavior?
Or how specifically did it not work?
Next step would be the Recovery Options as seen here:
John Barnett's Windows Vista Support: Windows Vista Repair Options
Failing that and without a backup a reinstall is probably in order.

If there were a step prior to a reinstall perhaps you might find it in one of these ideas:
search indexer has stopped working - Google Search
Turning OFF this Service is widely suggested.
That might be all you need to do.
Another tack is this update:

Which also raises the question: Have you installed SP1?
If not you should. Windows Update.
