    automatic window resizing

hi, i'm newly experiencing Vista, and normally i can get a new window to open in the size i want but i am struggling with Vista.

how do you get a window to open in its largest pain without actually being maximised? alternatively, is there a way to get new windows to open in maximum automatically?

    thanks
    James

    this is what i did

right click on IE icon in quick launch
    go to properties
under shortcut where it say Run: select maximized
    apply, ok
click on a link in IE. resize it with the mouse to the size you would like ot to be. Don't press maximize
close the IE window from which you linked
from now on new windows fron IE will open to the size you made. i chose to make the window as big as possible without actually being maximised, which suits me/

    hope that makes sense

Good solution. You can also get this method to apply to any screen in Vista. Open the window you want, drag it to as large as you want, do not use the maximise button. Once you have it the right size hold down the shift button on your keyboard as you close the window using the X in the top right corner.
