Wireless connection says "no connectivity" when I start Windows
Hi guys,
When I start my laptop (on a wireless connection - BT Home Hub) it says that I dont have connectivity and says its an "Unidentified Network". This only happens now and then but when it does my connection diagnostic thingy says the router isnt releasing IPs through the DHT. It reccomends reseting the router, so I do and it works fine. This only occurs on my Vista (SP1) laptop.... it works fine on the XP desktop and laptop.
Any ideas, or is this just Vista being annoying again?
P.S. Also having problems with disapeering start menu icons (volume and network usually) although a few other ones have been disapeering....

Well, whenever that happens to me, I just restart my router, and it fix the problem... give it a try

I had the same problem with mine on the old Vista but SP1 seemed to have fixed the problem for me.
See if you can re-download and install the drivers for your wireless card or if there are new patches etc.
With the disappearing start menu icon's i'm guessing you mean in the taskbar (usually bottom right corner) check to see if you have it set to "Hide inactive icons".

I've given up trying to fix this now, I just restart my router when this happens.... less hassle
