    Unhappy HELP! Monitor graphic problem!

    Dear D-A-L:

I don't know if this should go in this section, if not please remove it.

Well, I have a ASUS G1 Gaming Laptop for almost two years, but recently it is giving me some wierd graphic issues, not only in games but also in windows platform. I will post a screenshot. Its not just the lines crossing between screen you see, theres also some random pixel moving around whenever I mouse over or doing something else. In the game, the graphics just goes all tweaked in a sudden, as well for screensavers.

    What I have done:
I already unistalled the driver and re-installed it but the problem keeps in there. I did notice that whenever I unistalled the driver, when my lap is running the graphics with the default adapter which is pretty low, there is no problem, but whenever I installed the nVidia driver to it, the problem starts again.

I am explaining as much as I can, if I miss to mention something, please let me know, this problem has been causing me restarts, blue screen, black screen, etc.

    THank you!

Are you sure that it is the right driver for the graphics "card", and is it compatible with Vista?
Perhaps you could say what model it is, and what driver you are trying use..
Also, are you sure that the screen supports the uber high resolution you are using?

Yup, its the right 32 bit Vista driver which I am using, and all the video setting that I have are the ones I have before the problem. I haven't changed a bit the res settings or anything, and before it was perfectly fine but now its not.

how odd :/ when you say the default driver is "low", how do you mean by that?

You know..when there is no driver installed, theres something that makes the computer still can display but in a low resolution.

Hmm, So it will display at lower resolutions.. So could it be the higher resolutions making the screen go funny??
I recommend (with the driver still installed) lowering the resolution slightly, and seeing if this cures it, as it could be the screen not fully supporting the high resolution that this new driver is allowing your card to support.

Yup I have actually tried that and the result was the same, didnt' work =/ so I am guessing its the driver or the hardware. if its the hardware I am doomed >.<

Well if it works without the nvidia driver, i doubt it is a hardware problem.
I would recommend contacting nvidia; this might be a common problem that they have a patch for or something.

Is this the driver you are using?

    ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

In uninstalling the previous driver are you doing so via Add or Remove Programs?

    1. Yep, thats exactly where I got the driver from. (Seems to be the only place lol)

    2. I unistalled the driver via: device manager -> right click the video adapter name -> Unistall. and the video adapter category just dissapeared, so I have to restart the computer and it automatically finds the old driver i think, so I just right click the video adapter through device manager again and then "upgrade driver" to install the new driver I downloaded from ASUS.

    Hope this help .
