I'm setting up my husbands new Dell Inspiron 530s running Vista Home Premium. It works fine out of the box. But . . . we set up his widgets and whenever he turns off the computer, at the next startup his widgets are gone. We have two other computers both running Vista and have had no widget problems.

Anyone have any idea where they go and why? And how to get them to stay after a reboot?

When you say that the gadgets disappear, do you mean the entire sidebar or just individual gadgets appear to uninstall themselves? Are there are errors displayed or just a disappearance?

I figured it out. I had to go into Windows Sidebar Properties and check "show gadgets at start up". Now it works. Thanks for your help.

Glad you got it sorted. A bit of tinkering always does the trick
