Hi, my laptop memory is disappearing quickly. It started yesterday and today i have lost 8gb. I have run avg 8 and it picked up nothing. I have also run symantec online scan and, again, nothing. I havnt downloaded or installd anything. The laptop isnt very powerful anyway and i am now down to 30gb free, less than half of total. Dont know whats going on! Any ideas as what could be doing this? Could it be to do with msn messenger contacts, or winks or.........clutching at straws. Any help appreciated and thanks in advance. Think i should add ive been having startup problems. Keep going through the vista repair/restore rigmarole but ts still happening. I am on vista home premium. It ran totally smoothly until maybe i upgraded to avg 8. Could it be to do with that??? Stil doesnt expain memory going down for no reason though.

Very possible. 8.0 has been having a lot of problems.
Go back to ver 7.5, or switch to Avast.
