Windows Vista Home Premium Laptop is Slow and Unresponsive, how can I fix it?
Hello everyone
My Windows Vista Home Premium laptop is very slow and unresponsive, and I'm guessing it is because I've downloaded too many programs onto it.
I got rid of those programs completely hoping it would make my laptop faster, but it didn't work.
Some of the problems I experience are:
1. Opening new windows. It's incredibly slow, so I have to open it in a new tab.
2. Opening IE, I have to click around for it to respond and go to my homepage (which is my Google E-Mail)
3. Non-responsive IE, for instance, if my laptop goes to sleep and I have more than one tab open, when I move tabs it almost freezes.
4. It's just slow in general. My Windows XP computer is much, much faster.
I would like to know how to fix this, because I don't like having a slow laptop.
When I first got it for Christmas, it was really fast and I loved it, now that it's slow I prefer my Windows XP more.
Please help!

There are so many possibilities here.
Without being "hands on" the computer all we can do is speculate.
What programs did you install/uninstall?
What is your CPU usage?
Is the laptop very hot?
If it were a hardware issue you should still be under warranty.
If it were a software issue in the worst case scenario you can reset it to factory condition via the Restore/Recovery options of the manufacturer.
What is the exact make and model?
All that being said many "slowdowns" are due to Malware and viruses. See the following:

Get the NOD32 trial and then boot into safemode and run a scan.
Run the Bitdefender Online Scan.
Defragment.
+Possibly reformat if you said that you downloaded many programs...possibly viruses along with them.

There is an easy way to handle your problem; maybe you can try the software "tuneup360". My friends and I all use it, which can help you fix all the problems you may encounter.
