My PC came with vista and i get occasional freezes. I think Vista still has lots of bugs but maybe some of these will be fixed in SP1
Operating system shouldn't freeze without a reason.
I'd recommend, you get another 1GB RAM stick for your Vista. Having only 1GB may be a reason for freezing.
Broni is right Vista is power hungry and the minimum recommended is 2GB of ram. I have 4 GB in my PC and it flies but Vista 32 bit can only use 3.5GB so half a gig is wasted.![]()
Windows Vista needs a minimum of 512 MB...but good luck running it on tha, anyways, more RAM is always better. Try to get another stick of 1gb and try it, if that doesnt work, repost
I'd classify it as Micro$oft joke.Windows Vista needs a minimum of 512 MB
lol yea
Except for the bare bones Vista Home Basic you would need 2gig of ram to stop it hanging and slowing down when being heavily used I would guess, it certainly would not be able to use Aero on Premium and I wouldn't want to try playing any games like Medal Of Honour on it ether.
I have just looked on MS Vista site and yes they do say you can use Vista on 1 gig of ram but I wouldn't recommend it as I tried to and the dam thing hung like hell if I had to many apps open. Perhaps that is why so many laptop users had Vista taken off and had XP put on.That is why I rebuilt my PC and still adding things like sound card and at the moment waiting for a new video card. Wow it has just arrived a job for the weekend I think.

yea but some companies, not mentioning (TOSHIBA) ---oops!!----anyone, but they will acually ship laptops that are not able to downgrade to vista. BTW if anyone needs memory checks, try using crucial.com its a great memory site. anyways to take another crack at the issue at hand, run the crucial memory test, it will give you details on your systems performance and give you upgrade options.
