A latecomer to this thread I have been searching for a solution to the problem of "Windows Installer Service Could Not Be Accessed" but the various solutions/downloads all appear to relate to Windows XP and do not work on my PC which is operating Vista Home. I have been able to install programmes and downloads perfectly well since purchasing this new PC a few months ago but now for no known reason it will not install programmes and the above error message appears. Can anybody help me please!
