Insert your exact C700 model and see if there are XP drivers:

If not then you have problems.

You are also probably removing any and all warranties.

You will also need a Unique copy of XP. Meaning the Product Key can not be used on any other computer.

You could also contact HP/Compaq and see if they support downgrading.

Many manufacturers started to support and supply downgrades.
