Recently got a new laptop with Vista. Now unusably slow. The CPU meter is permanently at 100% and from task manager I can see the process iexplore.exe is taking up almost 100% all of the time - even when I have the windows explorer closed. Is this right? if not what can I do I need to speed things up.Help!!

iexplorer.exe is the windows desktop itself and now internet explorer.
download and install process explorer from here: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sys...sexplorer.mspx
Once installed open it and it will tell you more about what is using the processor.
