Ok i can connect to the web browser fine, but i can not use any im services or connect to any games online. Like it doesnt even try to connect at all. I have lowered my security settings and put them back at default also turned off firewall and then tried still nothing. I am curious if anyone else has had this problem at all and some help fixing it would be miraculous. Thank you so much in advance.

When using an IM service, have you tried using "run as administrator"? Vista's User Account Control may be trying to "protect" you.
